Here’s where I ended yesterday.
This “Cottage Garden” colorway is perfect for flowers, so I’m going to add one to this scrumble. The photo, above, shows the foundation for a row of petals. I just slip-stitched along the lavender row, adding 5-chs in the center of each space. Slip-stitch right back down the 5-chs and across the lavender row until you reach the center of the next space.
I joined the petal color at the base of the first 5-ch, then worked increasingly tall stitches up the side of the 5-ch. ( 2sc, hdc, dc, 5dc in the very top) and reversed them on the way down (dc, hdc, 2sc).
I worked into the under-side of the 5-ch, so that there would be a lavender vein up the center of each petal.
