Using Marks – Collage and Assembly

Jenny Allen creates art infused with soul. It’s the first thing most people notice about her work, and so many people ask how she does it that she has designed this class to share one of her special talents which is using Marks (paint brushes) that make every painted piece unique and personal.

Explore your unique visual language using Marks: painting papers and fabric to create an assemblage or several.  A playful dive with a variety of materials.

In this workshop you will paint unique papers and fabrics for future art painting projects. Everything will be provided for you although you are encouraged to bring anything that inspires mark making.  Samples are available for your inspiration and viewing at Florilegium and on-line at www.florilegium.com before our class.

Jenny Allen Is a textile artist who generously shares her creative process through fun, immersive classes. Her next class will be Sunday, June 29 from 10:30am to 3:30pm at Florilegium in Weston, MO.

Create Original Fabric with Jenny Allen:

• Date: August 27, 2016 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Join us for a day of paint and play with artist Jenny Allen! Create one of a kind fabrics using Dye-Na-Flow and Inktense. Several techniques will be explored producing a take-home sampler of art fabric. Permanent when heat set, the fabric can be washed, worn, and layered into a variety of projects.

The $65.00 fee includes all the inks, dyes and tools needed for class as well as one yard of pre-washed cotton fabric. Additional fabrics will be available for sale, or participants may bring pre-washed cotton fabrics – plain or printed (for overdyeing).
