Let ‘er Rip!

OK, I’m going to do it. The rather unprepossessing project-in-process, that you see below, will soon become one big ball of yarn.

This unusual sweater began years ago, from a Vogue pattern and one of my all-time favorite yarns, a beautiful cashmere/silk blend. But, last week, after several intense hours of really boring knitting (ribbing), I realized I had grabbed the wrong dyelot. See the ugly stripe, below?

The pattern is “upside-downable”! You can wear it either way. I thought that sounded really fun, and I thought I’d use a lovely, neutral color so it could revel in it’s texture. Well, it’s blah, blah, blah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had to give it one last, reverent moment and a few commemorative snapshots in honor of the hours spent getting this far. I won’t know, until I rip it, if I will find peace; but, I do know there will be a few more available bits of brainpower, less guilt and more time to do something awesome and COLORFUL!!!!!
