Antique textiles are a fertile source of inspiration. No matter their condition, there is nearly always something intriguing to learn (or borrow) from them. These old, French examples are some of my favorites.
The old portfolios have exquisite ribbon embroidery which uses a beautiful type of ribbon that is hard to find, these days. But, I have found it!
Take a look at some details from the antique pieces:
The ribbon is tiny, 4mm, ombre – very delicate – and comes in 16 colors.

My next mission is to figure out those plump, little antique roses. I’ll let you know how it goes!
