Berlin Woolwork Needlepoint Chart – Coleus

This Berlin Woolwork chart is a professionally-made, color, digital copy on high-quality photographic paper taken from an original, handpainted Berlin Woolwork chart in our collection. The original came from a large group of antique charts destined for a textiles museum in New England. These charts were popular from 1850 through the 1930’s, and they are beautiful in their own right. They do require some interpretation because the tiny, handpainted squares are not as precisely painted as the stitch-painted canvases or computer-generated charts we see today. All the more opportunity to create a unique work of art! The pattern size is 4 1/4″ by 17″ (does not include borders).
