A Day in the Life….

image

Today I was winding yarn for a new batch of Artist’s Assortments when I had a moment…..The sunlight was pouring through the workshop window, a breeze sneaked through the propped-open door, laughter rang out at the front counter and I was merrily winding and drinking in the glorious colors all around me. It was truly a moment of grace – a grace note – in the midst of  an ordinary day.

A glance around me revealed a TON of work to do, like copper beads and druzy’s to count and price…

Freshwater pearls (that were certainly delivered by mermaids) awaiting sparkling glass jars,

image

Silks and velvets to fold, just so,

image

Paternayan yarn to sort and inventory,

Hand-dyed yarns and beautiful batts, floaty marbled silks, and dreamy cottons all needing just the right projects to set them off.

It seems a dream, now. I wanted to share it here to be sure I never forget the power of color and texture in the midst of an ordinary day.

Having actually visited Florilegium, I can assure everyone that there cannot be such a thing as an ordinary day in your shop!!! Just setting foot inside and being surrounded by all the eye candy is an extraordinary experience!

It’s because of the kindness of people like you that we have no ordinary days at Florilegium. Thank you so much!
