The photo, above, is where I begin today. That little slip-stitch square sticking straight out the top, like a cowlick, is my current bugaboo. I do things like that on purpose, to force an interesting solution. This time it will take several steps to make me feel better.
I joined the yarn on the right-hand side, in the last turquoise single crochet. From that point on, I made chains, joined them into the work with slip-stitches, then single-crocheted back over the chain to another joining point. Back and forth, varying the length of the chains, I continued making chains and single crochets to create a lacy shape.
To complete this section, I continued the rows of “single-crochet in the back loop” across one edge using the same yarns as the other rows, below.
